Children who have difficulties with their Social and Interpersonal skills, often suffer with feelings of rejection and low self esteem.

The first step in dealing with this situation, is to identify the specific problem areas and to raise awareness of these issues for the child.

I have compiled a Comprehensive Survey of Social and Emotional Skills.

By completing this checklist, you will be able to pinpoint your child's problem areas as a starting point

About The Author

Jacqui Snider

Jacqui Snider the author of "How To Build Self Esteem In Kids", is the mother of 3 children, aged 9,11 and 15. She is also is a Paediatric Occupational Therapist who has been working with children with learning difficulties and other disabilities for the past 19 years.

Her Occupational Therapy work has been diverse. She has worked in community health, special schools, private practice, special needs playgroups, kindergym and in a co-ordinating position for Occupational Therapists in outreach jobs.

Whilst working with the various children, their families and their schools, it became very clear that the most important ingredient to success with therapy was the ability to help the child to improve their feelings of self esteem. By establishing a goal and attacking the challenging task one step at a time, the child begins to realize the power of having a go (taking action toward a goal) and experiences the positive feelings of achieving in an area they never believed possible. Sometimes, these effects flowed on to other areas of their lives, simply because they learned that they could do anything they wished if they believed in themselves and broke the task into small achievable bits.

It is this observation that lead Jacqui to seek a way to encourage people of all ages  to feel good about themselves and believe in their ability to work towards the goals they choose for their lives.

It has become her mission to contribute some fun and positivity to the world through her products. In writing her e-Book, she wanted to share her experiences so that people would be exposed to the simple, but effective messages she has to offer. Hopefully by doing so, she would encourage them to think and communicate creatively about life issues that are important in creating the mindset necessary for successful and happy living.
